Dream BIG Dreams!

Dreaming BIG Dreams…Just DO it!

This weekend was brightened immensely when an ongoing prayer of our family was answered. We found out Paul will definitely NOT be deploying this year! (Yes, it's March and we still weren't completely sure what the Army had in mind for the rest of our year...Army-wife life at it's most fun!) But we are so thankful that we got the news we were waiting and praying for!

All seems to be falling into place after our recent goal setting and dream building time together. We feel that we have found and are traveling, eyes and hearts wide open, on God’s path for our family! Our continued prayer is that before he retires in a little over 2 years, that there will be no further deployments that take Paul away from us!

Paul was off work the other day; we were outside with Nicolas, our youngest son. They were playing and Nic was “helping” Daddy fix one of the cars. We were having lots of fun and laughs together as I was taking lots of pictures of the bonding moments. At one point, a couple hours in, Paul looked me in the eye with a huge smile and said, “This is what our freedom and dreams will ultimately feel like!” What an occasion, we were able to see and visualize in a small way what our life has in store for us in the future if we work hard to accomplish our goals and live our dreams!

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
Eleanor Roosevelt

I have started down some new paths in recent weeks as far as my career and life goals. Where I was previously with my motivation and “why” were only mere ideas and the stepping stones of the direction I want for my life and my family! In the past month I have changed and improved in many areas pertaining to my dreams and my WHY, I now know how to envision myself where I am going and know what I need to do to get there! I have put time into defining where I am, where I am going and how to get there! I know that I need to work hard to attain my dreams, but I know that I WILL get there!

Paul and I have included the older kids in our planning, goal setting, and dreaming! It is so exciting when I hear them say things that now include their belief and strong opinions that we will all work together to achieve our goals in life! Just last night, Natalie sent me a picture saying "Let's buy this house"! It feels AMAZING to know the positive changes they see in Paul and I are rubbing off and they see how much possibility our future holds!!

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.
Henry David Thoreau

Do you allow yourself to dream? No, not dreaming while you’re asleep, but when you’re wide awake and thinking about where you’re life is going? When you limit your dreams, you limit yourself! Dream often and dream BIG every day!

In allowing ourselves to dream big, to not only see it and feel it but also make the commitment and have the vision needed to know it will BE, we give ourselves freedom to achieve amazing things! The only one that can hold anyone back from their true potential is their own negative thought processes! When I tell you to dream, I mean go touch and feel the things you want! Tour your dream house, test drive your dream car(s), research the trip you’ve always wanted to take! This will keep you centered in the motivation of YOUR path!

Without dreams, there can be no courage. And without courage, there can be no action.
Wim Wenders

As a society, we’ve been taught that just getting by is ok. Are you ok with that? I’m not!! I know that God has created a path for me and my destiny is divine! When we finally allow ourselves to dream and become in touch with where we are truly going. Nothing can truly stop us! There will be hurdles to jump and mountains to climb, it won’t be EASY! (Nothing worth dreaming about IS easy!)

Don’t settle for just “ok”! There is so much MORE to life than ok! When we find our chosen path, and identify our dreams in life, there is a freedom and peace that overcomes and carries us through the hard times through continued motivation and longing for what is to come!

We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers. They see things in the soft haze of a spring day or in the red fire of a long winter's evening. Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true.
Woodrow Wilson

So, if you had more time, and money wasn’t an issue, what would you be doing today? Who would you help? Where would you go? What would you do? This is the road I’m on, I’m ecstatic to say the very least. Do I have all the answers? Nope. But am I confident I will get to and live my dreams? You BET!! This is one wild journey and I whole heartedly invite you to come along!

There is an old saying that “you are who you associate with”. I can tell you right now, this is the absolute truth! I have begun to surround myself with people who are going places and some who are actually living their dreams. What better way to learn how to be your best self from the best! I feel so blessed to have such amazing mentors in my life!

Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.
Harriet Tubman

I encourage you to inventory your life, who do you surround yourself with? ( No, the kids don’t count!) Are they positive models of where your dreams are taking you? Do they lift you up and encourage you to take leaps of faith to attain your dreams, one by one? These are the people in life that we must surround ourselves with! Positive, uplifting, goal oriented people! As you grow, help others!

Find your dreams! Reach for them! Work hard every day to stay on the path in front of you to achieving your dreams! And if by chance you need some help finding that path and giving yourself the permission to truly DREAM BIG, contact me, I’d be happy to help you get started on your dreams! It’s easier than you might think!

When we are dreaming alone it is only a dream. When we are dreaming with others, it is the beginning of reality.

Something Special...

Today I read a story that touched my heart deeply. It was written by a good friend of mine about another long-time friend, who happens to be her husband! The story is a glimpse of just how special love and commitment are!

To give a bit of history, it seems like a lifetime ago that I met Doug, when we worked together in Telecommunications. We have kept in touch off an on over the years since both leaving the company. Doug is a fun-loving and kind man, we've seen each other at some low times and recently reconnected on Facebook, while we both are experiencing some good times. In the space of time we were not in contact we both got married and I eventually met his wonderful wife, Melania!
Melania, I don't know where to begin! I'll just say that in talking and sharing I made an instant friend who is the picture of beauty, courage and strength! She has become a source of encouragement and strength to me over the weeks and months since we met. Doug and Melania are both very special people and they share a special love that inspires many! I feel quite honored to call them friends!
The story behind this post was written on Melania's photography blog. I felt compelled through a few tears to ask if I could share this with all of you! She lovingly agreed.
Please take a moment to read this story of love, honor, support and courage! While you're on her page, say hello to Melania and check out her beautiful photography! You can also follow her Tweets @Melaniamphotog! I know you will love Melania as I do!

Love and big HUGS!
